Thank you for choosing Orchid Dental as your complete restorative and cosmetic dental clinic
As a new patient, we initially invite you to come for a new patient assessment which usually takes about 30 minutes. This is a two way process allowing plenty of time for you to address your dental concerns and talk about how we can help you.
There are a couple of forms to complete before seeing the dentist (for convenience these can be downloaded – see below – and filled out in advance). It is important that you bring a full detail of any medical condition and medication you take. The dentist will then carry out a gentle extensive examination of your teeth, gums, and the soft tissues inside your mouth along with any clinically necessary radiographs (x-rays). All of this gives us an accurate picture of your oral health, and allows us to discuss the examination findings and all possible treatment options with you, including a full breakdown of the treatment costs. No treatment is carried out on this first visit.
Below are the forms you need to download, complete and bring with you on your initial consultation.

Private and cosmetic dentistry consists of a range of elective dental procedures that can enhance a person’s confidence and smile. Nowadays the dental profession is not only used by patients to maintain oral health, we are also commonly asked to enhance appearance by creating a healthier, more youthful and attractive smile.
If you are interested in cosmetic dentistry, implants or orthodontics to improve the appearance of your teeth this can also be discussed and the dentist’s expert opinion of the options available will be given. It is our philosophy to ensure that patients only receive treatment or services that they want and need.
Our patient records are held in the strictest confidence. Photographs are often taken before, during and after treatment. Some of these are used for promotional and teaching purposes, but individuals could never be identified or recognised. Please inform us if you were to have any reservations in this respect.
We will discuss treatment options, alternatives, time-scale and costs with you. We will provide printed estimates and treatment plans once treatment decisions have been made. We always welcome the opportunity to discuss the treatment proposals and answer any queries. Our reception staff have a huge amount of cumulative experience in dentistry and are well equipped and always pleased to help in this.
We do not always need to see you on a six monthly basis. Once your dental hygiene routine is stable your reminders will be tailored and set at intervals suitable to your dental health and treatment needs.
Our patients appreciate the costs of providing a high quality service. We ask for a minimum of a full working day’s notice for appointment cancellations so time can be offered to other patients. There is a charge for lost appointment time without this notice to partially offset the costs incurred by the practice.
The team of dentists and support staff at Orchid Dental Centre is not only experienced in working with children but is also very ‘child friendly’. We are aware of the special attention that our younger patients require and we aim to inspire them to be able to understand the concepts of oral health and the prevention of dental disease. With regular check-ups, our dentists can provide advice and treatment that can help your child keep healthy teeth for life.
We apply topical fluoride for all our children patients from the age of 3. Fluoride hardens the tooth enamel, helping to ward off the most common childhood oral disease, dental caries, or cavities.
